Title: Mechanic, Kitchen Equipment

Under direct supervision, ensures that each school has proper working kitchen equipment and maintains and repairs refrigeration equipment, walk-in freezers and coolers, ice machines, and cooking equipment.

Essential Functions:

The following duties are representative for this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.

• Assesses faulty equipment and makes necessary repairs.
• Repairs kitchen equipment such as walk-in freezers, coolers, ovens, steamers, ice machines, milk boxes, mixers, slicers, kettles, and tilt skillets.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• Graduation from high school or GED equivalent supplemented by education/training in food service, refrigeration or closely related equipment service/repair equivalent to one (1) year of college is required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of refrigeration, food service or closely related equipment service/repair experience is required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PERMITS: 
• Valid Freon certificate required.
• Valid warm air certificate preferred.
